Trip to GHANA

With WeHASS, you can schedule your trip to Ghana any time of the year, no delay. You can travel alone or with a group.

Our recent trip to Ghana was December 10 through December 29, 2020 with Laurence Logbo who travelled from France to Ghana.

Hi ! my name is Laurence Logbo and I live in Paris, France.         I would like to share with you my recent trip to the country of Ghana West Africa, on behalf of WeHASS (We Help African Students Succeed). I am just going to show pictures for you to share and live with me this incredible and fulfilling experience getting in communion with orphan and refugee children. I brought Christmas to them during this harsh time of COVID-19. They were not left alone for Christmas. God bless I was able of doing this thanks to the support of the entire WeHASS-Ghana team!!!


Our Next trip to Ghana is confirmed  June 9, 2020 through June 14, 2021, with Tony Washington travelling from California, USA to Accra, the capital city of Ghana.


What to do before your trip


  • Passport
  • Book your flight ahead of time
  • Letter of invitation: You need to get a legalized letter of invitation from the WeHASS team in Ghana. This letter will allow you to get a VISA to enter Ghana.
  • VISA
  • COVID test needs to be done strictly 72 hour before getting in the plane.
  • Vaccination: Yellow fever vaccine mandatory, other inoculations optional.
  • Medications: malaria medication prescription mandatory. Other medications for example for travelers diarrhea etc..

ITINERARY

Day 1: Preparing to fly to Ghana

Before the trip: Fundraising for your trip

If you can donate, you do not need to fundraise for your trip. This trip is for charity, therefore WeHASS will help you set up a fundraiser to be able to donate to Orphan and Refugee Students in Ghana. Our donation suggestion packages will show after the itinerary.

Day 2: Arrival at the airport in Ghana.

WeHASS-Ghana Team will pick you up at the airport in a rental air conditioned vehicle and drive you to your reserved hotel.

Day 3: Meeting the WeHASS-Ghana organizing team

A WeHASS videographer located in Ghana, will make sur that you keep all memories of your trip in videos and pictures. This will help you with your fundraiser even after you come back from your charity trip.

Morning: You will be Welcomed by a flower girl.

Afternoon: Accra nature tour

WeHASS organizing team will drive you in their air conditioned SUV to start the Accra nature tour with a climb to the top of the old lighthouse near James Fort in Jamestown with a great view of the city and the busy and colorful fishing harbor.

Wander through the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and later visit the W.E.B. Dubois Center and Independence Square. Experience the busy Makola Market in central Accra.

Finally we will take you to the Art Center, where you will find a great choice of local handicrafts. Look behind the scenes of the Art Center and enjoy a drumming session with the locals.


 Day 4: Ghana sightseen.

Morning: Visit Aburi.

Start your journey with a visit to Aburi Botanical Gardens close to Accra, one of the most beautiful and peaceful sites in the area. Continue to Aburi Craft market to view local handicrafts and enjoy market place.

You will also experience the fascinating production site of traditional beads at a beads factory, take part in a workshop and produce your own beads.

Afternoon: Visit the Monkey Sanctuary.

Visit the Monkey sanctuary and enjoy feeding bananas to the cheeky monkeys, who have been protected by the local people through an eco-tourism project. Visit a banana plantation on your way.

We will continue to the Wli Falls close to Mount Afadjato.

 Day 5: Visit of the Cape Coast slave Castle with the door of no return.

 and 
The King or Queen Enthronement  ceremony.

 Day 7: Visit of the Refugee camp of Egyeikrom

Morning: Soccer game.

Afternoon: Celebration with orphan and refugee students

Day 8: Visit of the Refugee Camp of Ampain.
